Chapter Thirteen

After dropping Evan off at school the next morning, Dell told Redd that he had a surprise for her. He blindfolded her for the remainder of the ride, but they continued to make light conversation. Redd wasn’t sure where they were going because it felt like they were driving for a while. After a thirty-minute drive, Dell announced that they had arrived at their destination. He got out of the truck and walked around to the passenger’s side to open it for Redd. He didn’t remove the blindfold until they reached the front doors.

Redd blinked a few times to clear her vision. “The factory?”

“That’s right, baby.” He grabbed her from behind and leaned down to kiss her cheek. “You’re ready, right?”

“Yes. I mean, I guess so. Did you and Kon−”

“Yes,” he cut her off. “Konette sent me the numbers last night, and I glanced over them this morning. The spot light is yours as long as you want it, baby.”

Redd thought about it for a moment, and then she smiled. “I’m ready.”

“Let’s make it happen then.”

He opened the doors and allowed Redd to walk in first. Each time she visited the factory, she noticed more progress. She and Dell walked to the elevator and headed to the second floor. Dell stuck his tongue down Redd’s throat and would’ve stripped her naked if the elevator ride wasn’t so short.

“I’m nervous,” Redd admitted once they reached the second floor and got off.

“I don’t know why. You’re the truth on and off the camera.”

He made her blush. “Thank you, Dell.”

When they reached the photo studio, Dell pulled out his keys and opened the door. There were a ton of switches that he hit, which lit up the entire room. “Sit tight, gorgeous,” he told Redd. “Everything you need will be arriving shortly.”

Dell’s words were very literal because within a few minutes, tons of people walked through the door. A hairstylist, makeup artist, and a masseuse all gathered around her. Next a few people came in with different types of camera equipment and began setting it up. Everything was happening so fast.

“I gotta step out to make a phone call, baby,” Dell told her. “Is there anything else you need?”

“I’m fine. Don’t take too long, though.”

Dell nodded before leaving the room. He walked down the hall and got on the elevator this time going to the third floor. On his way up he dialed Dahci’s phone number, and by the time he got off, she had answered.

“Dell, how are you, love bug?”

There were a ton of rooms on the third floor of the factory. Dell walked down the long hall to the very last room, which was in the process of becoming his office. Once inside, he shut the door and walked to his desk. He sat down before finally replying to Dahci. “Where the hell are you?”

“I just finished taking care of something. Why? Do you wanna see me?”

Dell could tell by the tone of her voice that she had that vicious smile on her face.
